The name of the town i live in is Dhaka. It is the capital city and the biggest town in Bangladesh. It is an ancient city situated on the Bank of the river Buriganga. It was called jahangir Nagar during the reign of emperor Jahangir.

Dhaka is divided into two parts known as old Dhaka and new Dhaka. Sadarghat, Islampur, Gandaria, Faridabad, Babubazar, Moulovibazar, Lalbagh are in the old Dhaka. The old town is very congested and the roads are very narrow. There are some places in the old Dhaka which bear historical interest. Ahshan Monjil, Salimullah Medical College, Lalbagh Fort, Dhakeswari Temple etc are in the old Dhaka. Excepting Motijheel, Dhanmondi, Gulshan, Banani, Uttara etc are the important areas of the new Dhaka. The modern Infrastructure's and institution's have been established in the new Dhaka.
The new Dhaka is expending day by day.

Dhaka is a populous city. About 12 million people live in such a small town. For being over populated, Dhaka town is beset with lots of problems which cause a lot of inconveniences to our life uncomfortable. Constant noise is causing health hazards.

The sewerage system of the town is not good. If there is a heavy rainfall, water clogs that causes a great inconvenience to public life. Many points of the roads, Footpaths are illegally occupied by  vendors, shopkeepers, hawkers.

Law and order system of the town is not satisfactory. Snatching, toll collecting, killing, rape, child in the developed countries, town life is very disciplined and more comfortable than we have in our country. So to make our life is very easy and worth living, we all have to be conscious and the government should take initiatives regarding this problem.
